Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. It is believed that she was the one responsible with establishing the current study of the memory of witnesses and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded several awards and grants. She has advised numerous authorities and government agencies around the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims by the legal system. Additionally, she provides consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the America Psychological Association's divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
